Everything about the Continued Validity Ordinance"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We often receive questions from refugees and their carers whose residence permit is marked as expiring on 04.03.2026. It is important to understand that the residence permit has <strong>not<\/strong> expired, but <strong>will automatically remain valid until 04.03.2027<\/strong>. This is based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gesetze-im-internet.de\/ukraineaufenthfgv\/BJNR14E0A0023.html\">Ukraine Residence Permit Continued Validity Ordinance<\/a>, which has been extended every year since 2023. On 25.10.2025, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.recht.bund.de\/bgbl\/1\/2025\/252\/VO\">Federal Ministry of the Interior decided on the next extension until 2027<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Due to this regulation, <strong>no new residence permits<\/strong> will be <strong>issued<\/strong> if a residence permit has already been issued in the past &#8211; even if it has been lost.<\/p>\n\n<p>This means that anyone who wants to travel and has to show their residence permit, or who needs a valid residence permit to conclude a contract, can use the existing permit &#8211; the &#8220;expiration date&#8221; on the plastic card or on the residence permit pasted into the passport is irrelevant.<\/p>\n\n<p>However, there are cases in which proof of continued validity is required &#8211; for example, if the passport has expired and a new passport has been issued by the Ukrainian embassy or &#8220;DP Dokument&#8221;, or if the residence permit has been stolen or lost. Even in such cases, a new residence permit will not be issued. However, it is possible to obtain an <strong>official replacement letter<\/strong> under certain conditions.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The procedure in Stuttgart is as follows: <a href=\"https:\/\/stuttgart.konsentas.de\/form\/7\/?signup_new=1\">An appointment can be made at the Servicepoint<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>If the person concerned:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>has received a new Ukrainian passport and wishes to have it transferred to the residence permit, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>requires proof of continued validity for other reasons (e.g. for the employer),<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>&#8230; select the following topic: <strong>Transfer of existing residence permit to new national passport (so-called transfer)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>If the person concerned:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>has lost their residence permit or it has been stolen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>&#8230; must be selected as the topic: <strong>Residence permit (eAT) &#8211; report loss and reissue eAT.<\/strong> <br\/>In addition, the loss must be reported to the police<strong>.<\/strong> The documented report must be presented at the appointment.<\/p>\n\n<p>At the appointment, those affected receive a document such as the following, which can be presented to authorities and contractual partners as proof:<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"724\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wolja-stuttgart.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ABH_Nachahmung_FortGV_mit_Unterschrift_zensiert-724x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2253\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wolja-stuttgart.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ABH_Nachahmung_FortGV_mit_Unterschrift_zensiert-724x1024.jpg 724w, https:\/\/www.wolja-stuttgart.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ABH_Nachahmung_FortGV_mit_Unterschrift_zensiert-212x300.jpg 212w, https:\/\/www.wolja-stuttgart.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ABH_Nachahmung_FortGV_mit_Unterschrift_zensiert-768x1087.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.wolja-stuttgart.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ABH_Nachahmung_FortGV_mit_Unterschrift_zensiert-1085x1536.jpg 1085w, https:\/\/www.wolja-stuttgart.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ABH_Nachahmung_FortGV_mit_Unterschrift_zensiert-1447x2048.jpg 1447w, https:\/\/www.wolja-stuttgart.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ABH_Nachahmung_FortGV_mit_Unterschrift_zensiert-500x708.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.wolja-stuttgart.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ABH_Nachahmung_FortGV_mit_Unterschrift_zensiert-800x1132.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.wolja-stuttgart.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ABH_Nachahmung_FortGV_mit_Unterschrift_zensiert-1280x1811.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/www.wolja-stuttgart.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ABH_Nachahmung_FortGV_mit_Unterschrift_zensiert-1920x2717.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/www.wolja-stuttgart.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ABH_Nachahmung_FortGV_mit_Unterschrift_zensiert-scaled.jpg 1809w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 724px) 100vw, 724px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p>This procedure applies to refugees who are registered in Stuttgart. In other districts, the procedure may differ &#8211; in this case, the responsible immigration authority should be asked whether and in what form replacement documents will be issued.
